Understanding art therapy

Each Art Therapy workshop consists of three activities namely, Art Therapy, Process Art and a Soul Intent Glimpse.

Each workshop begins with ART THERAPY in which specific guidance and instructions are given to you, to encourage you to release emotions and to balance your feminine and masculine energies, promoting a connection to your soul.

This is followed by PROCESS ART where you are encouraged to express yourself through your artwork. This experience is not about the final product or about creating a masterpiece. You will be surprised how healing and meaningful process art can be.

The workshop concludes with a SOUL INTENT GLIMPSE where psychoanalytical tools of drawing analysis and colour and symbol association are used to help you to better understand yourself and to guide you on your path.

The workshops

The art materials rotate weekly over four weeks. We offer sensory and tactile materials such as hand paint, charcoal, and clay as well as more traditional brush painting with acrylic and water paints, as well as chalk and oil pastels. Creative expression is good for your soul and these benefits are amplified in a group session.

Art Materials rotate as follows:

For Week 1 we start with Art Therapy with oil pastel. Followed by Process Art with clay. We conclude with a Soul Intent Glimpse leaving you feeling transformed.

For Week 2 we start with Art Therapy with hand paints. Followed by Process Art with charcoal. We conclude with a Soul Intent Glimpse leaving you feeling transformed.

For Week 3 we start with Art Therapy with oil pastels. Followed by Process Art with acrylic paint. We conclude with a Soul Intent Glimpse leaving you feeling transformed.

For Week 4 we start with Art Therapy with Chalk. Followed by Process Art with water painting. We conclude with a Soul Intent Glimpse leaving you feeling transformed.
